Why take off WUSTL? no USC?
nope you’re UC capped GPA is a 4.25
USC was never on my list. I live in LA, and I’m not a fan of the campus or culture.
I was just wondering why it wasnt.
You’re UC uncapped is a 4.31. The only UC’s that look at uncapped is UCLA and UCB. and UCLA’s average is a 4.39 uncapped and UCB’s average is a 4.41 uncapped. So for you to get into LA and berkeley aim for straight A’s this sem(I’d get an AP Physics tutor since money doesn’t seem to be a problem) and raise you’re ACT to a 33 and you’d have decent chances at UCLA and UCB.
I have 15 A’s and 1 B which are recognized by the UC a-g system. I have 6 semesters which qualify as UC approved honors. I used the calculator on RogersHub, and the result was 4.31. Is that incorrect?
since you’re not applying for comp sci/engineering you should get into the majority of the other UC’s raise you’re ACT to at least a 32 preferably 33 or higher and UCLA and UCB could go either way
Yeah. According to the calculator, if I get straight A’s during second semester, my untapped would bump up by 0.1 to 4.32.
I have a tutor do the ACT, so I’m hoping that’ll help bump it up to 32 or 33. Thanks!
“for”, not “do”
Sorry. It’s late and I’m typing on my phone.
That’s okay. I removed WUSTL because it was a high reach, and I wanted to whittle down my list a bit. It could be added back later.
A 27 on science does not mean anything. In science I went from a 31 to a 24 then to a 34 and I never studied more than 2 days for an ACT. Just perfect time management and science alone can get you to a 33
Ugh. Even if I A’s, my UC GPA would’ve been 4.36. Or does the uncapped remove the 8 semester honors restriction?.
If uncapped does remove the 8 semester honors limit, I can get a 4.41 if I get straight a’s the second semester.
Here’s some updated info and a school list. Can anyone advise?

My extracurriculars are my weak spot since club soccer took up all my team up until my junior year.
Club soccer from age 8 - age 15 (played with nationally competitive team at age 15 for 3 months)
High school soccer (grades 9 & 10, captain of JV team in grade 10)
Youth in Government (started in grade 11)
National Honors Society (grade 10 only)
Hospital Volunteer (started in grade 11)
Tutor younger children in math
My parents divorced when I was young. I have 5 siblings. Since both my parents and stepparents work, I spend most of my day taking care of my brothers and sister, which includes babysitting, driving them, putting them to sleep, feeding them, etc.
Trying to obtain a 2 week long “intern/shadow” position at a UC school’s medical research facility.
Re: soccer. I quit after 10th grade. My club coach (who is also my high school’s varsity soccer coach) sat the team down before the summer tournament season started. He told us that the only people who should be playing at this point are those who want to play in college. In addition, he was moving us from two 2-hour practices per week to three 3-hour practices and two 1-hour conditioning sessions per week. I felt I’d be unsuccessful at school, especially with the academic workload/schedule I desired, while having to devote a large portion of my free time to soccer. It took a few days for me to decide, and I chose to cease playing soccer and focus on academics. My parents weren’t thrilled and I sat them down for what ended up being a very emotional, tough, yet productive discussion. I felt and continue to feel that I made the decision which was best for me.
Majors
My ideal major is in the Neuro area (Neuroscience, Neurobiology, Cognitive Sciences, etc.) One of my brothers is mildly autistic, has ADHD, and is dyslexic, my other brother has ADD, and my stepbrother has ODD. Witnessing these issues and the difficulty that both my siblings and parents experience on a daily basis has steered me towards this field of study.
Schools
Here is my wish list of schools grouped by admission difficulty and in alphabetical order. I plan on whittling the list down to 2-3 reaches and 6-7 matches. I’m excluding the UC’s from this count since they have one app and one set of essays. I’ve been told that money will not be a problem.
