Chances for UCs & Cal States

Hi! I know I posted a thread in the summer asking for chances but now that I've actually applied-I was wondering what my chances are for lower tier UCs (UCR, UCM, UCSC) and Cal Poly Pomona/SLO? Also, would UCSB be a high reach for me?

uc gpa: 3.27
w/uw gpa: 2.72/3.05
SAT: 1920 (CR: 560, M: 670, W: 690)

I also chose Undeclared as my major for UCs and Comm for the Cal states.

SAT is good for these colleges, but GPA is really low. I’d say you’d get into UCM maybe cal poly pomona, but the rest are big question marks

UCM: Match
UCR: High match
UCSC: Low reach
UCSB/SLO: Reach
Do you have any safeties? Cal poly pomona,SFSU, Monterey, San Macros would be good choices. Your GPA will hurt your chances at the UC’s. Average UC GPA for all UC’s except UCM/UCR/UCSC is a 4.0+.
Just remember Undeclared is an impacted major at many of the Cal States so it may not give you any better chances.

@Gumbymom Could SJSU, Northride, Chico, and Fullerton be considered as good safeties? I’m planning to apply to Whitter and Redlands for my privates, but no other schools besides the ones I’ve mentioned.

For Cal States, is Comm an impacted major?

Calculate your eligibility index.
(CSU GPAx800) + (SAT CR +Math). If EI is 3700 then you are a Match for Chico, Fullerton and SJSU. Northridge is a safety. Whittier and Redlands are Matches.
All majors are impacted for Fullerton and San Jose.
