Hi I'm new to College Confidential, and as an incoming senior I am wondering what my realistic chances are for UCLA and UCB in state, and Cornell/Northwestern:
GPA: UW 4.0, W 4.55 uncapped
Rank: Top 5-10%, definitely among top 50 out of 500ish
SAT: 780 CR, 660 M (low I know, I will retake), 800 W
SAT IIs: Math 2 740, USH 760
APs: USH (5), AP Lang/Comp (5), Psych (5), AP Gov, AP Micro Econ, AP Lit, AP Calc, AP Stats
ACT: 31 (will not send)
Prospective Major: Statistics or Economics

ECs:
-President of Model United Nations for 2 years, member for 1 year prior
-Lifetime member of CSF
-100+ hours volunteering at cat shelter
-4 years of paid tutoring
-Member of San Mateo Youth Legislative Committee (helped endorse/pass bills that affected the area and endorsed a bill that affects UC and CSU campuses.
-Summer internship at consulting firm
-2 (maybe 3) years of lacrosse (Helped my mom actually found the team, but didn't play junior year due to injury)

Awards/Honors (nothing special...) :
-Principle's List
-AG/Calc "Hall of Fame" for perfect score on final exam along with only 4 other students in the past 10 years
-AP Scholar

Letters of Rec from will be strong.

Plan to write about absent father and overcoming my anger with him in order to forgive and become a better person, and how I overcame depression.

Do not listen to ^^^. Go Cornell Dyson. SAT is 2240. I think if you go Cornell ED you it should be a low reach. Northwestern is also low-mid reach. ED will significantly help.
UCLA- match
UCB- high match

You don’t need to retake the SAt. Instead, use that time to make your essays perfect. Your ecs may be a little weak, but UCLA and Berkeley will be matches/ high matches. You should ED at Cornell. Chance back please?

I definitely say apply to Cornell too! You have great SAT and GPA and ECs! Cornell is probably a Low-Mid Reach, and California schools high/mid matches. Northwestern is low-mid reach too

Also @Abbybee23 do you think that Carnegie Mellon would be a match? A step parent is an alum and has good connections there so I feel like that garners a boost
