Isnt Stanford harder to get into than Hopkins? I'm aiming to go to Hopkins mainly, that's the school im doing ED to. Could someone please tell me what my chances of Hopkins looks like if i raise up my test scores to 2200+ (because I've been prepping for half a year now)

I know JHU pretty well; several family acquaintances graduated from/worked there, so they know the profile of the normal students.

Your SAT IIs are pretty low (should at least be in the 700s). Why haven't you taken AP tests for the other AP classes? That looks really strange - even a bit suspicious, as though your school's AP classes might not be rigorous enough or something.

HOWEVER! Your ECs are solid, so JHU is within reach. Go for it.

I'm still a Junior x_x. Sorry if you didnt know that.

I've only really focused on one SAT, my chemistry which is a 750. my other SATs were rushed upon me by crazy asian parents (3 of them at once, with 1 month to drop). I was thinking about using my World History for my safeties though. I might retake Physics next year. As for the rest of the SATs, I'm confident that I will score 700+ for Biology and Math IIc. Maybe even physics sometime.

The reason I havent taken my 4 AP Tests is because I'm still in those classes because im still a junior x_x.

Thanks for the reassurance for the ECs.

Now after I've told you all of that, do you think my chances will go up?

Yep. You've got a pretty good shot, in fact.

People, he's still a junior.

A piece of advice: don't think about chances this early. Nobody can give you a good assessment without seeing the complete records of your most important year in high shcool

Piece of advice: think about them as early as possible, since they serve as a road map for you to pick your path. Don't jump in without a map, lest you be lost in the labyrinthine passages of the admissions process.

Ray192- I came here asking mainly for advice on what I should improve on this year, so next year I will not be so lost in the dark

PrescitedEntity - Thank you for your advice, you give me a lot more hope. I've been worrying about it endlessly and I just needed some reassurance of where I am going

How did you end up with a 660 Physics SATII if you got an A+ on the regular grade? :|

a) I had to study for 3 SAT IIs a month before the test, so i was very unprepared

b) my teacher was a bumpkin

The UC acceptance is very weird. I had a friend who got into Cal and UPenn but reject from UCLA. In fact, my year UCLA was harder to get into that Cal. I had a friend get into Cal, UCLA, UCSD but reject from UCSB. I knew a girl who got rejected from UCLA, UCSD with a 4.2 and 1400+ SAT while a girl with a 3.6 gpa and a 1100 SAT got into UCLA. It's one of those head scratchers and can be frustrating for top applicants to see lesser students get into their top schools.

UCB and UCLA are not reaches but they are also not guaranteed.

These days UCLA is getting tougher and tougher to get into..... its harder than Cal already

no it isn't
