Chances for UC's, USC, maybe Stanford/MIT. Updated GPA + worried about SAT's!

thanks for the responses guys. bump please.

And btw just so people know I’m not getting my hopes up on Stanford/MIT, I’m just applying in case I get super lucky, but Berkeley is really where I want to go that I think I have enough of a chance.

bumpppppppppp

bump please, someone?

bump once again…

I went to the Naviance web site and compared your statistics to those of students at our high school who applied to both UCB and UCLA. Every applicant who had at least your combination of GPA and SAT score was accepted. I think you will get into both schools and very likely be offered a regents award at UCSB. Best wishes.

I think you may get into all of them. It depends on what you write on your essays for UCB and UCLA. Your GPA is excellent and your SAT scores are good. Are you first generation?

Stanford- Reach
MIT- Reach
UC Berkeley- Low Reach
UCLA- Low Reach
UCSD- Match
UCSB- Safety
UC Davis- Safety
Cal Poly SLO- If you would pick SB/Davis over SLO, don’t apply
USC- Match

Obv. some of the people rating you have no idea what they’re talking about.
You’re top 1% in California, so you’re ELC. You’re guaranteed a spot in UCI, UCSB, Davis, everything but SD/LA/B. So yeah.

Stanford - reach
MIT - high reach
UC Berkeley (I would absolutely love to go here if I don’t get into Stanford or MIT) - reach
UCLA - reach
UCSD - high match
UCSB - match
UC Davis - match
Cal Poly SLO - unsure
USC - reach

For people saying that UCSB and UCD are reaches must not know how easy it is to get in there, particularly for in-staters.

This is my most recent thread with some important updates, for those of you who looked at this thread in the past few days:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/826254-deferred-stanford-applied-berkeley-ucla-usc-help-please.html

Stanford - chances are better than those of other people’s on CC
MIT - chances are better than those of other people’s on CC
UC Berkeley - in
UCLA - in
UCSD - in
UCSB - in
UC Davis - in
Cal Poly SLO - in
USC - in

I’d say you’re good to go for the UC’s and SLO. Those should all be safety schools for you. I know a lot of people who had lower scores, lower GPAs, and fewer extracurriculars than you and who are now at Berkeley and UCLA (myself included). I’d say MIT and Stanford are slight reaches. But at least you have backups.
