UCSB - high match

Haha, do you go to Granada High School? I think you’re a match/low reach for most of them, you’re SAT scores and EC are fine, but GPA is lacking.

Irvine and Davis would accept you.

GPA is lacking, but UCB, UCLA, UCSD will be very difficult, considering your GPA. For those, your weighted UC 10-12 academic gpa will need to be something like 4.3, 4.2, 4.1 respectively.

You have a good shot at UCI and UCD though.

oh, and sb will be a reach as well

You should have a good shot at SLO depending on major, though the average at that school is about a UCI level with a slightly higher average gpa and sat score

Any more, guys? Btw, I expect to go up to a 33/34 on ACT following the October ACT, so any idea how that would factor in if at all?

an act that high will probably move most schools down a level e.g. low reach -> high match.

Sounds about right. Any other insight?

Unfortunately for you, the UC system tends to prefer high GPA and okay-ish SAT scores, so the 3 reaches don’t look so good, except for UCSD. However, I wouldn’t let that discourage you. Your SAT is excellent and the UC’s evaluate applicants HOLISTICALLY, so give it a shot. You also didn’t include SAT subject tests, which aren’t required but could potentially give you a boost. Visiting the schools may also help. Good luck!!

Yeah, I’m by no means expecting to get into LA or Berkeley. Or UCSD for that matter, but I feel like my SAT/ACT might give me a fighting chance at SD.

Anyone else? :)
