Chances for UC's

3.5 GPA, with a downward trend =(. Started with 4.3 after 1st semester sophmore year, then 4.1 end of sophmore, then 3.6, and finally, 3.52.

31 ACT Score and 1980 SAT Score

50 Hours of community service at a Daycare 9th and 10th grade
(would like to know whether I should add some depending on how colleges confirm hours)
(not sure how hours of community service from community service clubs count either)
Worked with my dad's online business for three years
Secretary of Math and the Science club at our school for 2 years

Umm, not sure what else I need to be adding, like the 2nd grade 1st place trophy in baseball or the 8th grade 1st place, 7th grade 2nd place in a yo-yo tournament, and the 2nd place trophy in a chess tournament at my school in 8th grade. But yeah, I just need my chances to Berkley, LA, SD, and I. I know it might be a bit less, but anything to increase my chances would be good.

The good news is that you WILL get accepted to one of the UC’s, it may or may not be UCB or UCLA. Your GPA is a little low for those schools. You have a somewhat better chance at UCSD but that’s not a sure thing either so, if I were you, I’d add add one more “safety UC” besides UCI. Don’t use your SAT scores since your ACT scores were better. I’m not sure retaking it will help you since they will want “all scores” and a 31 is pretty good. Good luck.

3.5?
Sorry, but only UCSC, UCM, and UCR are realistic choices.

Sorry, but I have to agree with Firebat. Even schools of the level of UC Irvine will be a reach.

Your GPA will hurt you in the application process.

Although the GPA is set in stone, you can still improve other aspects of your application by retaking your SATs if possible.

Is that your UC GPA?

At UCLA, the admit rate is 2.9% for fully weighted GPA’s below 3.7

Umm, this was in 2009, meaning that all that’s been decided has been decided. Applied to B, LA, SD, I, D, and R. Got into the 2nd half, so not really that disappointed. I’m now offically…an anteater!!!

Oooops! Congrats!

lol, fail chancing, firebat

He got into UC Irvine.
