32 on ACT

president of 2 clubs and 300 volunteer hours
2.8 academic Gpa
what are my chances for davis/irvine/SD/santa barbera
thanks

You are not eligible for admission to a UC if your UC GPA is 2.8. You need to have a high school of GPA of 3.0 or above to be considered for admission to a UC. You may be able to petition for an exception to this policy on the basis of your high ACT and SATII scores. You should consult the University of California website and look into “admission by exception”.

There is always eligibility through test scores.

thanks =]]

It’s really hard to judge your chances given your unusual combination of stats. For sure, UC weights GPA more than test scores. Thus, San Diego, with it’s average 4.07 GPA, is a far reach for you. However, I think you have a chance at the other schools if you are trying for a non-engineering major.

davis and irvine have 4.01 averages and ucsb has a 3.92 average. not much a difference from ucsd if you are going by that logic.

My apologies. I didn’t look at averages for Davis or Irvine. SD is my third choice so I know its stats pretty well. Besides knowledge of SD, I only know that Davis and Irvine are lower ranked so I just assumed they had a lower GPA average, though apparently not by much. I wasn’t trying to mislead anyone.

so is there a chance that i might get into davis or irvine because im low income and single parent? so i had to work through high school

Is the GPA unweighed, weighted or UC?

weighted. i didn’t take any ap/honors courses in high school
