omgggggg i wish people would stop asking us to review their stats and determine whether they have good chances or not.

look, if you were really considering ucsd, you would've done enough research to know that there's a point system to their applications, and it all depends on that. if you get accepted to ucsd according to the number of points you have, then chances are, you'll probably get accepted to ucsb and ucsc too, seeing as how they're both ranked lower, and have a higher acceptance rate anyway.

look at your stats, dude. i didn't have half of those many EC's going on and i still got in. so theres your answer.

i think you're in for sure, but yeah, check out that point system for reassurance.

dude guys, dont give him a hard time. I would say you have a reasonable shot, but u might wanna recalculate ur gpa so its the UC gpa (like capping off after 8 semesters of AP/H classes). your SAT and esp ACT range is kinda a vague..if you can get 2000+ on SAT and as close to 30 on ACT, i think u have a pretty good shot. ECs are ok..maybe shoulda done volunteering

As for the point system..i dont think you can really calculate it yourself cus it depends on what the admissions ppl think of ur profile. like for example if they can potentially give u 500 pts for leadership, dont think "oh im president of __ so i automatically get 500"...maybe theyll give you 300 out of the possible 500. same for volunteering and hardships categories. the more u vlntr the more points u get; the tougher life u live the more "sympathy" points you get. but still the system is good referance to see what they look at. good luck

ummm try ur best.... since u are from out of state.... out of state students have higher standards/requirements.....

just apply to this school because everyone has a chance to get in....

Bah, we should give Chance people a hard time, the UC General board and the What are My Chances board should be the Boards these people use.

Our board might be more active. Maybe they already posted a response on the UC General and What Are My Chances board and didn't really get any replies.

Also, most of the chances posts make it clear in the title that it's a chances post (lilke this one). If it really bothers you, just don't read it.

I think almost everyone can relate to being a senior and being anxious about college decisions.

But yeah, california_love, work on your SAT/ACT a little bit. Even without that, I think you have a really good chance of getting in to UCSD. And an even better chance at UCSB and UCSC. Your grades and ec's sound good.

When you're out of state, it's a chance really no matter what your stats are. There are SO few spots available for out-of-staters. It's impossible to be a true "lock" out of state.

way to squash his/her dreams into getting into ucsd.....hahaha
