Chances for UCSB?

Ill keep this short and sweet,

UC GPA = 3.6
SAT = 2100

Lots of community service
5 years piano, 9 years guitar
9th grade football, 10th/12th grade track
12th grade mock trial

Great Essays
Good letters of Rec.

Upward trend in GPA

Thanks !!!

There are problems in social activities and GPA. You should take a look: <a href=“UCSB: Acceptance Rate, SAT/ACT Scores, GPA”>http://collegeapps.about.com/od/collegeprofiles/p/UCSB.htm</a></p>

If you’re in-state, you should be okay with the 2100 SAT.

I know an AIME qualifier with a 2170 SAT score and a capped UC GPA around 3.8. He was rejected by UCSB (and UCI), but he was accepted by UCD, which is usually a lot more selective and better than UCSB.

I am super jealous of him because my stats (2300 SAT score and 4.0 capped UC GPA) are so much better than his stats, but UCD (and UCI) waitlisted me while UCSB accepted me…and I just found out today that I did not get the dorm that I wanted. :((

I thought they don’t want any letters of rec?

Yeah, UCs don’t care about rec letters. Your GPA might hurt you, but if you did better in 10th and 11th grade then you should be fine with that SAT score.

UC GPA below the competitive range, but your SAT is very good. Write amazing essays and Good Luck.
