Hey my names Caleb, I'm a white male from So Cal and I want to know what my chances of getting into SB are, thanks in advance.

UW GPA: 3.44
W GPA: 3.53
SAT'S: I haven't taken them yet, but what kind of score should I get to improve my chances?

Extracurricular: I will have played three years of football and four years of soccer by the end of my high school career. I haven't done much in respect to community service hours but I plan to. How many community service hours should I aim for?

I also will have taken 3 years of Spanish and several honors courses.

what your UC gpa? You should get over 1800 to be considered. Over 1900 just to feel confident. You also need SAT subject tests. You need more extracurricular activities other than just sports.

What is a UC grade??

it is the gpa that the UC’s will use for admission. Basically, you will be given 8 semesters worth of extra point(A=5) in AP and honor-approved classes(such as precalc Honors).

I believe the cap is 4.4. Also, it is only from 10th-11th grade. The average UC gpa for applicants were 3.71 and average UC gpa for admits for 3.92 for fall 2008.

Oh cool thanks. Since you seem pretty knowledgeable, what are the ACT’s and SAT subject tests?

You are required to take two SAT subject tests to even apply to any of the UCs.

Thanks for all the info. You cleared up a bunch of stuff for me.

ACT is another alternative for the SAT I. It’s easier for some people, harder for others. So you should try both. SAT II subject tests are 1 hour tests which tests only on a specific subject such as chemistry, us history, biology, etc. There are also language ones.

I’m guessing you’re a junior? Same here. We’ll be competing.
