Chances for UCSC?

<p>UCSC is by far my first choice, but I am really worried about getting in. I think my essays were strong, but my gpa is kinda lacking. </p>

<p>UC GPA : 3.55 (top 40%)
SAT : 2000 - 640 CR 670 M 690 W
ACT : 30
Going to have finished 8 AP classes by the end of high school, statewide leadership positions in a model state government, President of clubs at school.
Chances?</p>

<p>UCSC has fairly easy standards compared to most UCs. Particularly with your SAT and ACT scores, I’d say it’s a match. </p>

<p>What kind of extracurriculars do you have?</p>

<p>Lots of public speaking and leadership. Politically involved and athletic up until my injury last year.</p>

<p>Yeah, I think you’ll probably get in. Good school, by the way. I toured it earlier this week and thought it was gorgeous.</p>

<p>Your SATs are strong enough, so I think it’s a match even though you need to bring up your grades.</p>
