I guess your SAT I score is at about the 50th percentile among UCSD acceptees (according to statistics from past years and using the 3:2 ratio for new SAT to old SAT conversion). Your SAT 2 scores are near the top, and four years of varsity tennis is impressive. The fact that you're a California resident should bolster your chances. UCSD is pretty much a match for you, but if you can raise that SAT score enough to break 2000, I'd say that you're in pretty good shape. I have to work on my SAT 2's... I scored in the lower 600s for two subject tests while scoring 2110 on the SAT I... I know... it's pretty bad.

Yeah.. I'm going to try to break 2000 in October or November.. gotta keep studying.

What I'm concerned about most is my UC GPA... isn't 3.916 a bit low?? I thought UCSD, UCLA, and UCB both only accept students with a 4.0+ UC GPA?

I think you are OK. I just graduated and will be going to UCSD in the fall. My GPA weighted was 4.0 and my SAT scores were low 1250 (old way). SAT II's - US History 660, Math 620.

hmm, i actually know some friends with similar stats (well, not with the new SAT but if u split it up...) make it into UCSD UCLA and Berkeley. i think you'll be ok for UCSD, as far as UCB and UCLA goes, i'm not really sure, but UC admissions are sometimes unpredictable. i guess if u can, u can work on your SAT scores, otherwise, the only thing left for u to do is the personal statement. good luck

ummm i was wondering if the first generation to go to college include the ppl in family that didnt graduate but still end up going to community college. Is community college still a college? or do they have to go to a 4 year university to consider it a college
