Applied: UCSD, UCI
Major: Philosophy
GPA: Including fall grades, 3.06 w/ def upward swing in the past four semesters.
Exactly 90 transferable units: 60 from 4-year (with a lot of upper division), 30 from CCC for this fall and next spring
Personal statement really strong (doubt that it matters), no TAG but all pre-req's cleared.
SDSU Study abroad credits from Thailand.

Christ Almighty I need to get into UCSD!
I won't have TAG or IGETC completed, but I have all the prereq's cleared, will I be able to get in with a 3.06? I also will be considered "Priority Admission" since I'm taking 30 credits over 2 semesters at a CCC.

I keep hearing that above 2.9 is a safe bet at UCSD for most majors, is that true?

90 quarter units? or 90 semester units.

if you have 90 semester units you do not qualify for admission. They do not accept senior transfers

90 semester units. An adviser at UCSD informed me anything over 90 and I can't, and I made sure he was positive.

Did you contact UCSD?

You have to have UNDER 90. Like 89.5 Then you are a junior transfer. Otherwise senior transfer, and they dont take senior transfers.

go drop class.

"Students with credit from 4-year institutions may not exceed 90 transferable semester units prior to enrollment."

Prospective Students: About Admission as a Transfer Student

I checked with 2 different advisers at UCSD and 2 at my CC.

Ok i am just telling you what UCSD told me when i contacted them about transferring from UCLA. I could not transfer with senior standing.

And I appreciate your help! I was very unsure about it months ago and checked with several advisers. I would drop a class for the upcoming semester, but if I do I won't have 30 units at a CC, and therefore would not receive priority admission.

35 - 40 % shot at UCSD
50 - 60 % shot at Irvine
