Thank you for any chances! Any advice or criticism is welcome!

I’ll only comment on Stony Brook and UNC-CH. You have a great great shot of getting into Stony Brook with your 31 and E.C’s. However, it’ll be tough to get into UNC due to your out-of-state residency (it is for everybody out-of-state).

How much can your parents afford?
Public universities give hardly any aid to OOS applicants and have special rates that make them very costly.
UNC-CH is an exception re: FA (as is UVA) but the State severely limits how many OOS applicants can get in. With your stats, it’s almost impossible for you to get in.
UF is a match.
Volunteering: hours ok, but what recognition/external validation did you receive for all these hours?
Why NYU? It’s very different from the other schools on your list, which tend to be Public Flagships.

I have a pretty good amount of money stored away so money isn’t really a problem. I used to live in New York but live in Florida now which is why I wish to attend some of these schools.

Ok that makes sense. Look into SUNY-B, Geneseo, and a few private colleges. that may be more of a match- if you wish to go back.
Just to be on the safe side run the net price calculators on each school’s website and share the results with your parents.

In terms of raw numbers, a 31 ACT and a 3.84 UW will get you into NYU.
(The 1840 SAT doesn’t even come close to the 31 ACT, so I would suggest you only send in your ACT scores. Also, your AP scores are very weak, so I would also refrain from reporting them, as you won’t get any credit anyway.)

However, NYU definitely looks for creativity and individuality, especially in terms of extracurriculars and your essay, and it doesn’t seem like there is anything really setting you apart from any other applicant. You still have a few more months before you apply though, so make sure you get out there and find something you are truly passionate about and do something unique with it! Best of luck.
