<p>I'm posting this in regards to my friend, hoping she can get into UF because that's where she really wants to go and I am concerned. What are her chances of getting in?</p>
<p>Goes to a tough private school (Bolles if that matters).
GPA: 3.52 UW, not much higher weighted (like 3.56)
SAT: 1640 (going to take it one more time)
Math: 500 -- hoping to get this one up by 100
Reading: 630
Writing: 610
She is taking the most difficult schedule possible in her senior year with AP Bio and I know her school doesn't offer many AP classes thats why she doesnt have a high weighted.</p>
<p>Extra Curricular: (this is where she shines, will this help? )
Community Service- over 250 hours
-JV Cross Country freshman year
-4 year varsity track
-3D STATE Champion Horse Barrel Racer
-Finished top 10% in the horse barrel racing WORLD championships (invitation only)
-Not too sure what clubs she is in though, probably no major roles.
-Mentioned that she spends 4-5 hours everyday on horses and track after school</p>
<p>Her academics don't seem to stellar but her EC's seem good. Does she have any shot at all for UF?</p>

<p>Well she should first work on the SAT. That’s major. Will she take the ACT?
In her essay, she should talk about her involvement with horseriding. The ad’s will understand…
Ads will know what HS she attended and what its like, so if the school is seriously lacking in number of AP classes available, they will understand.
She should still try very hard at grades and get it up. Her ECs are really good, but if the grades dont shine, it will be very slim.
That’s all I can really say…
But I have seen peopl with really bad SATs and grades get in (like, REALLY bad). So don’t worry too much. But don’t not worry.

<p>UF is really difficult to figure out. I live in Miami and everyone in the top 10 always gets in but there’s always people who wouldn’t at first appear to get in who do. Just to up her chances she should get her SATs to about a 1900 and she should be fine for UF. <p>P.S. The breadth/depth of sports is great since UF is such a sport-centric school</p>
