EARLY DECISION APPLICANT for UF

Do I have a chance? What should I improve? Should I take more EC? Should I re-take the SAT/ACT? Will taking more AP exams add to the stats?

Please help ;_;

In answer to your questions:

Do I have a chance?
Yes, with your grades you have a great chance at Florida.

What should I improve?
Based upon your grades, your test scores should be significantly higher.

Should I take more EC?
Too many of your ECs are just "belonging groups" and not "action groups". Get involved in groups that perform service or participate in athletic or sports competitions.

Should I re-take the SAT/ACT?
I would either retake the SAT I or take the ACT or both.

Will taking more AP exams add to the stats?
Depends on what the results will be--if you could add two AP exams--one that would be a "5" and one a "4" that would be fantastic--and firm up your spot at Florida.

Does that mean with those stats alone (no changes/improvements/etc) I might be admissible for UF?

If my test scores do not improve, would UF question my grades? I am not a competent test taker but I excel in coursework and projects. I will still retake probably the SAT I, but I doubt I can rid myself of test anxiety. And I will definitely find a sport and a service organization for this senior year.

Thank you very much :]

PS: I do not mean to be so rude, but it was just amusing to see that your post count at the moment is 666.

Well, I'm not the devil if that's what you mean. And yes, I think you have a good shot at Florida even with the current stats. Florida--the state, that is--isn't particularly known for high SAT scores--and your grades are fantastic--so yes, I think you will get in if you applied just as everything is now.

But why not try and improve one or two before applying--and improve your odds--that's my point--and I think the test scores at the things to work on.

(See my post count isn't 666 anymore-LOL)

Best of luck.

(You un-666-ed yourself on purpose, therefore you ARE ebil!)

Thank you very much for your help. Now I'm debating whether or not I ought to send my (finished) application now for ED as it is finished while I have read through the forum a bit.

I have also just now finished signing up for the October SAT I. THAT is something that you have convinced me in doing.

are you instate?

Yes I am. Orlando.
