Chances for UGA

First off, thanks for taking the time to chance me. I really, REALLY appreciate it and WILL chance back anyone and everyone who asks for it. Thanks!

White Caucasian Male
~3.83 UGA Recalculated GPA
9 Honors Classes (9th Lit, 10th Lit, Biology, Chemistry, Algebra, Geometry, Spanish 2, Spanish 3, Spanish 4)
6 AP Classes (Lang, Comp Sci A, Macro, Micro, Lit, Calc AB)

Side Note: Freshman year was fantastic academically, rough patch sophomore year which messed up my GPA due to two deaths in the family. Junior year best year academically.

Senior Schedule (4 APs):

AP Micro/AP Macro
AP Calc AB
AP Literature
PE (required)
Physics
Film

6 APs at end of high school (Lang, Comp Sci A, Macro, Micro, Lit, Calc AB)

1900 SAT (620 CR, 620 M, 660 W)
Taking the ACT in September, I have been getting 29-31 on practice tests so expecting to be in that range.

I have leadership positions in 2-4 clubs, two year-round part time jobs, and do a good amount of volunteer work with my church, school, and library. I am a good writer, and am confident I can write great essays and have already started. Planning on applying EA to UGA in order to receive a decision by December.

Feel free to let me know my chances. I'll chance back as well!

Thanks!

In state or out of state?

Raise your SAT a bit and you’re all set :D

In state student!

Done with SAT, taking ACT instead. Will a 29+ look better than the 1900?

Everything looks good, but are you in or out of state? If in state, what is your class ranking? How many of your classmates are also applying to UGA. If your class rank is not top tier, and most of your class is applying to UGA - it might be an issue. UGA has some limit as to how many students they will take from each high school. If your high school is competitive, and most will apply to UGA - then you’re competing against them and only so many will be accepted. It really doesn’t seem fair, but it’s how it works. You can be more qualified than kids at other schools, but depending how many kids from the other high school apply - they may get in and you won’t.

I’d say it’s a match. A better standardized test score can only help, but you’re in good shape!

Class of roughly 500 and I’m top 10%. I’m in Georgia like I said so most of my school is applying to UGA.

BUMP this up!

Thanks in advance!

I’d definitely say it’s a match! You’ve definitely nailed class rigor/good test scores/gpa :)

Id be very surprised if you don’t get in! I’m applying also and I’m from PA
Chance me?

Chanced you BuddyBrooke; thanks for your input!

Bump this up! Still looking for chances!

im friends with TONS of people who had WAY lower stats than you, so i’d say you’re definitely in. but they’re always completely random. the school is 40% male and 60% female and they will shock the public yet again by admitting people with lower stats than you. so in all i say youre for sure in but UGA is literally crazy so you never know.

As it stands now, I’d say its a match. But it certainly wouldn’t hurt to raise your test scores a bit-- if you do as well as expected on the ACT it should be a definite match!

Thanks! BUMP this up!

You should be in, your stats match UGA’s freshmen profile:

https://www.admissions.uga.edu/article/first-year-class-profile.html

Middle 50% of All Enrolled First-Year Students: 3.73 - 4.03 GPA
Overall Average of All Enrolled First-Year Students: 3.83 GPA
SAT Middle 50% of Admitted First-Year Students: 1790 - 2040

Good Luck!

Match easily

How are my chances for EA?

Thanks!

Bump this up! Taking ACT in exactly two weeks, how solid of a shot would EA be with a 30+?

BUMP this up please! Will chance back!
