<p>I'm from California from an extremely competitive school. Gpa: 3.61W/3.33UW (9-11). I took many Honors Science classes and around 4 AP science/histories. ACT is 31. Applying for a computer science major (not engineering). I am president of two clubs (co founded one) Worked at a software company. Have 100+community service hours. Played violin for 11 years. Lived in Asia for six years (before high school). I have a filmmaking background and make music videos professionally. What are my chances of getting into UT Austin or Urbana Champaign? </p>

<p>Your GPA is too low for UIUC(impossible side), and I don’t think your ECs are particularly standing out. Bluntly speaking, anyone can make music videos, and unless it’s phenomenal music video it won’t matter much. </p>
<p>Also, the fact that your ACT is decent but your GPA isn’t will hurt you even more; it gives an impression of “smart but lazy in classes”. </p>
<p>For such reason, UW seattle is a reach too. </p>
