<p>I believe you have a decent chance of getting into both, especially UMBC. Your SAT score is similar to my score when I was applying several years ago, and I went to UMCP. Your GPA isn’t bad but it’s not special either. Write a good essay, take one or 2 more AP courses, or even take up a leadership position at a club, and you may have an even better chance for UMCP.
I didn’t go to UMBC, but I believe it’s easier to get into. I know someone who had an average 1600 on the SATs and a lower GPA, who got waitlisted and was eventually accepted to UMBC. When I applied, I was accepted and was offered a scholarship (which I eventually turned down to go to UMCP)</p>

<p>This is based on my experience from when I applied, so it’s not a guarantee that what I’m saying will happen. Things change and sometimes Admissions make seemingly unpredictable choices. However, I don’t think there’s a need to be extremely worried about applications and have a breakdown. No matter what happens you will be fine, as long as you have a fallback plan and don’t lose motivation.</p>
