Chances for UMiami, FIU, and UCF

I’m trying to apply to these 3 schools, but I’m in an unfortunate predicament.

I’ve taken about 4 APs throughout my 3 years in high school and by the end of my senior year, it should be 9 APs that I’ve taken this year. I have a 4.5 weighted GPA and a 3.5 unweighted GPA, pretty well rounded student, top 5% in my class, 100 community service hours + member of my school’s math honors society. The issue is my SAT score, it’s a mediocre score of 1090 (superscored) and it heavily impacts my chances of getting into these schools. Is there any hope for me? I feel like the hard work I’ve put in will not pay off because of my SAT score as it’s not even good enough for FIU. Can my class rank and GPA compensate for my SAT Scores when applying for these 3 schools?

Based on what we learned at the FIU tour and the SUS matrix, you should apply sooner than later to FIU. The school has rolling admissions so the sooner the better. UCF and UM could be a reach. You should also look at FGCU, UNF and UWF.

ucf has guaranteed admission if you are in the top 10% of your class and have an SAT score of 1090.
