Chances for UMich or JHU

I am entering senior year this fall, what are my chances for getting into University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) or johns hopkins university and how could I improve them?

GPA 3.85
ACT/SAT: 33, 2190
PSAT: 220
APs so far: AP bio, chem, world history, euro history, calc
APs for next year: Physics C, Lit, Spanish,
Extracurriculars: Marching Band (4 yrs)Assistant Drum Major
Tennis (JV) 3 yrs, captain
Rotary Interact (2 yrs)
National Honor Society (2 yrs)
Volunteer at St Mary Mercy Hospital (1 yr)

pls be honest, thnx

Michigan: Low Match
JHU: Match

(assuming GPA is UW)

If thats an UW GPA, I’d say Michigan as a low match and JHU as a high match. If not, depending on UW GPA, Mich as a high match and JHU as a mid-reach. As you are going to be a senior, there really isn’t much you can do other than join a few more clubs just to put them on your application. Good luck!

Thank you! It is an unweighted GPA haha. I was just extremely worried about umich because a lot of my friends from class of 2013 got rejected even though their ACTs were in the 30s and had 3.8 ish GPAs. And I’m in state, if that matters.

In-state helps because there are more accepted in-state students and a higher acceptance rate than out of state.

For UMich:
Low Mmtch for in state LSA.
Match for oos LSA or in state CoE
High match for oos CoE.

Remember the acceptance rate last year was 33%. Your GPA is right at average for UMich overall but below average for CoE. Your ACT is at 75% for UMich overall and above average for CoE.

UMI: Low match/Match
JHU: High match (if EDing)
