Chances for UMich

im from a school that sends at least 30 people to umich every year, so i kknow what im talking about. Umich is highly open to in-state folks. Someone with a 3.3 and 23 ACT got in. However it is definitely harder for OOS. dont overestimate it. In my opinion, your stats make you more than qualified for acceptance.

Does anyone know how hard is it to get into DUKE or VANDERBILT Early Decision??? Would I have a shot coming from the Northeast??

A lot of people don’t understand how Michigan’s acceptances work. People who apply to Ivies (yes, including HYP) apply to Michigan. Many of them get accepted to UM, but choose to go elsewhere. The OOS people who are accepted and matriculate are almost all (90-95%) in the top half of Michigan’s GPA and SAT ranges. And after this year, it’s going to be harder than ever to get in. Apply early to give yourself the best chance possible. Good luck!

look at ur schools naviance for umich, if you can, because that is a good estimator of the boost that a private high school gives

JJJJ—UMich is my first choice…I would do anything to get in!! I’ve tried to post stuff about my chances too and Im not getting much feedback…I’ll keep you updated though! And you should definitely visited if you haven’t already. Ive been there like 5 times and I love it more everytime I go!! are you OOS? Im from Illinois so Im hoping the 4 hour drive will help in my process…what school do you want to apply yo? I want LSA but Im afraid that everyone applies there so it is harder to get in…

Thanks for the feedback guys, I will be definitely applying to LSA and Im OOS (CT). Anyone else?
