My first choice is definitely UNC and second is NYU, so if you could focus more on those schools that would be just dandy (: thanks! By the way, the NYU school I will be applying to is the Steinhardt school (because I will be majoring in public health)

because when you sign up for Calc there are two parts: AB and BC, and you typically take them in one year.
I’m not sure what you’re exactly asking :/

I think you’d be a HIGH MATCH at UNC. Your grades are solid considering you’ve taken a relatively challenging courseload. Your SATs are in the ~33%, so not bad, but would definitely retake. Your ECs are good, but do you have any presidencies? Other leadership positions are fine but presidencies look stellar because you are actually LEADING the club.

All in all, I can see you receiving that acceptance letter!

yayyyy thanks so much!
and I’m lacking in leadership (sadly), aside from the fact that I’m sports editor of our school’s newspaper, on the Teen Council of my city, am a mentor for the underclassmen (lead camps for them, tours, etc.), and the fundraising chair of our Youth in Government club.

Your extracurriculars are very good, but I would definitely work on raising your SAT score (you’re so close to 2000+).

I would say NYU is a low reach - match for you, but NYU can be unpredictable at times with their choices. I would make sure that your essays are awesome.

There are two AP courses, AP AB Calculus and AP BC Calculus. I’ve never heard of somebody taking both in one year as AB Calculus is covered fully in BC calculus.

You have an extremely solid set of ECs. However, your GPA and SAT scores are a relatively low for NYU. That being said, I think you are great applicant for all the schools you listed if you package your application well and write good essays. NYU might be a bit of a reach though. Maybe try taking the SAT again because this will significantly improve your chances (only if you get a higher score though haha).

Your are a pretty competitive candidate for most of the schools you listed however NYU and UVA could be slight reaches based on your SATs- definitely try the november test
