I am a junior and recently took the SATs which I scored well on, but my GPA isn't the highest. Also a New England resident.

SAT-
Reading: 800
Writing: 800
Math: 640

GPA-3.0

I am on two varsity sports, participate in two clubs, have won multiple national writing awards, have been on a service trip to Fiji and have the President's Volunteer Service Award, Gold.

Do I have any chance of getting into UNC (Chapel Hill), UVA, and/or Elon?? Thanks!

Chapel Hill is extremely dicey-- they’ve got very high standards, plus a quota system that ensures every freshman class is at least 82% in-state. Virginia doesn’t have the quota, but they’re just as selective. Elon should be a bit easier.

However, you have an outstanding SAT score that will give you a chance just about anywhere and your EC’s are quite good. Have you taken the ACT yet? I imagine you’d score highly on it, which would give you a push.

I think your perfect verbal scores and weak math just show your tendency towards majoring in social sciences instead of say science/engineering, and they are fine with that. + Still, please take SAT 2s. Maybe you can score better at SAT 2 Math Level 1 AND 2? and you can prove your expertise in English with SAT 2s :)

Unfortunately, you should be seriously concerned about your GPA.
