Hello, this is my second time posting this because I only got 2 replies last time. :( If theres any information I'm leaving out that would help please comment.

I know a lot of these schools will be reaches because of my EC's and maybe even test scores.

School Type: Public

Not a lot of volunteering or anything special. My EC's are pretty mediocre.

Thanks so much for reading!

You are in at A&M
UT is impossible to figure out - you certainly have a good chance
Have you considered smaller schools like Rice (reach) or Trinity University (solid match and may get a scholarship)?

Your SAT scores look about average for Carnegie Mellon, but nonetheless, they still are very good.
You pretty much have A&M in the bag.
In 2012, the average SAT score for an entrant into the McCombs School of Business (UT) was about a 1970. So your scores are looking very good for UT.

Thanks for chancing me!
Yes A&M is my safety school, while I’m really hoping for UT since its in-state but I know its pretty unpredictable.
My school doesn’t send a lot of people to Rice and the ones they do send are URMs (Valedictorian was rejected from Rice last year).

Edit for clarity; I am not opposed to education at a smaller school, but I want a good education in business with high recruitment prospects. And preferably not in my home state, Texas.

Rice is very tough. Another school to consider is Arkansas. Their business school is pretty darn good (thank all that Walmart money). As a Texan and with your stats I think you will be able to get in state tuition. I think A&M is better but if you decide that College Station is not for you and are looking for a good deal Arkansas may be worth a look. SMU is also pretty good but is probably not worth it unless you get a really good scholarship. If you decide that you would prefer a small school check out Trinity.

I loved College Station when I visited and A&M is definitely my back up in case I don’t get into a better school.

Mostly I’m wondering if I have any shot at the reaches I’ve listed like CMU, BC, and most of all, ND.

UT you’re in, I can see you getting into Villanova as well. Wake Forest is likely. I don’t know much about the other schools except Carnegie Mellon is hit or miss, it’s extra credits that will help your test scores start to stand out.

Best of luck!
