Anyone else?

You will not be rejected from all of these. No way.

W&C
For some reason you feel like beating yourself up? Or if you convince yourself you have no chance, then you won't be disappointed??
You have a good "chance" to get into any of these schools. The key will be your admission essays. You can explain your low class rank (they should be able to understand there was a foul up when viewing your standardized test scores)
Make sure your essay shows you to be a unique person, not just another grade grabber. Judging from all the chance me posts, there are certainly enough students with grades, what makes you different from them? Look at the whole of your application, not just your numbers.
Cheer up
You'll be in a college of your choice.

... you applied to some safety schools, so I'm not seeing any "universal rejection" coming up. You shouldn't put yourself down fishing for compliments, though.

Can passion for learning be a distinguishing pt? I wrote a whole essay on research and what I gained from it, and another on relativity. I have many academic awards, but I'm just scared they'll take me for that "other asian nerd" guy again.

Update: I got 800's on physics, chem, math iiC (and bio last spring). To my utter surprise.

Oh, and I don't really feel like beating myself up. I just have the slight feeling I'll be rejected universally at the top schools I apply to (my safeties aren't counted in, of course), and wanted no bad surprises once admission time comes. I'm not fishing for compliments, just realistic and honest appraisal so that I don't get depressed when I see rejection letters.

Wow, great chance! Which are the order of the schools you ranked for QB? I think you'll defnitely be matched with your first school provided you write awesome essays! Good Luck!

I prefer not disclosing my rankings but MIT is my top choice.

I say you're definitely in at MIT! You're like the ideal QB & MIT candidate.

thanks for chancing me!

MIT - high match/low reach
Princeton - reach. as it is for anyone else
Caltech - match
Harvard - reach. as it is for anyone else
Rice - match
Yale - reach. as it is for anyone else
Stanford - reach. as it is for everyone elsethey're actually more uhh...pretentious than the HYP haha.
Duke - high match

you definitely have a chance everywhere though, so work on those essays!

good luck!

You are a very competitive applicant because you're an immigrant and you have had to overcome a lot of diversity. You actually have a great shot at getting in to the schools you're applying to.

Chance me?

Haha... 1 month before EA/QB decisions! My stomach's growling.

thanks for chancing me :)

I agree with what everyone else has said. Your tests are great and your gpa is great. but ur gpa doesnt match ur rank too well. hope you get that cleared up about your recent moving there. your EC's look alittle scattered but you have qutie a few impressive awards.

MIT - low reach
Princeton - reach
Caltech - low reach
Harvard - reach
Rice - match
Yale - reach
Stanford - reach
Duke - high match

what were your sat1 math scores? that could change things at MIt and caltech for you :-P
i think you have a very bad shot at being rejected from all of these schools... i think u'll get rice, duke, atleast 1 HYP and 1 outa caltech/MIT

Got 780 on my Math score (Arghhh, managed to miss a stupid question). And 800 on mathiic.

But honestly AIME is 100* harder than anything thing w/ SAT on it. The 1st time I took it last year, I barely managed to get a 5, and was completely unprepared by the kind of question asked on it.

Oh, I had a random question. Do my EC's not match with my ultimate passion about learning?

My essays are mainly about academic endeavours, about elegant concepts etc...

track team (9, 12)

Science team captain (11, 12)

math team member (11, 12 probably)

Literature team member (12)

Volunteer hospital (50 hrs), volunteer pagoda (50 hrs)

Mentoring freshmen for school, mentoring team leader (12)

Ping Pong club (11, 12)

Math club (12)

MUN (9)

Student Council (12

I meant that you are a bit scattered in your activities. You dont seem really committed to anything. but you do have alot of commitment to music so thats good. also you have alot of work experience and a research project!
the 780 in math could hurt you a bit at caltech? i remember some1 telling me they are really anal about it. but i wouldnt worry since u got an 800 in math IIC.

btw i got killed by USAMO haha.. i got a 1/42 -.-
those proof questions are like impossible. and 9 hours??? jesus i drew pictures, ate food, and napped for most of it :)

Yeah, from another pt of view, I do seem a little bit scattered. I guess it's too late to change though, and I like every single one of my activities.

I just hope my focused essays will help me.

btw i got killed by USAMO haha.. i got a 1/42 -.-

Looks like what I thought about doing w/ the last AIME test hr, until I got the idea to brute force that tough question: Got it right in the end!

How do you brute force a question on AIME? lol, after solving the first nine in like 45 minutes I spent the other 2 hrs and 15 mins trying to brute force the others.....eventually failing all of them...
