Chances for University of Michigan: Ann Arbor

<p>Ethnicity: White (My grandma is Japanese but I don't think that counts =P)</p>

<p>GPA: 3.75 Unweighted, 4.06 Weighted</p>

<p>ACT: 33 (Might decide to take it again... not sure yet)</p>

<p>Ranking: Top 10% (school ranked in top 5% in the nation by Newsweek)</p>

<p>AP Classes: Took A.P US History last year, AP Bio and World History this year. Taking 5 APs next year.</p>

<p>ECs:
3 year varsity baseball (well assuming I make the team again this year lol)
German Club (3 Years)
University of Michigan health careers summer camp</p>

<p>Volunteering:
I will be volunteering at the hospital near me this summer, doing stuff like working the gift shop and refilling refreshments in the waiting areas, etc.</p>

<p>Work:
Umpiring at local little league in spring/summer/fall</p>

<p>Teacher Recs: In the process of getting recs from two teachers I've had for multiple years who both have been teaching at the school for over 45 years.</p>

<p>Combined parental Income: <$60,000 (Not sure if this has any effect but...)</p>

<p>I guess I’m a little worried about my lack of ECs and volunteer work. I should have been doing stuff earlier my high school career.</p>

<p>Don’t sweat it. Try for a leadership position in German club to prove your dedication and you’ll be fine. Also, just play up your independent volunteer work to show that you were doing something productive and they’ll still think you’re great.</p>
