your gpas will get you in no doubt, assuming its on a 4.0 scale.

I would work on your sat score, is this total or just reading and math? And what’s your gpa (weighted or unweighted)?

But in all, I would say you certainly have a shot…

Is the 1580 out of 1600 (CW + M only?) If so that’s amazing! If it’s out of 2400, though, it might be a little low (I may be wrong but I think the average is ~1800). PSU cares mostly about your GPA, then test scores, then the extracurriculars/etc, so if you have a 4.11 out of a 4 point scale, you have a good chance at getting in, assuming you applied early.

My gpa is based on a 4 point scale. Unfortunately my SATs are out of 2400. I do not consider myself to be a good “big” test taker, which is evident from my scores.

your sat score will hurt you quite a bit, as the average sat score for univeristy park is around 1700-1800. Your gpa is impressive, as is your class rank however. You have a chance, but that sat score will drag you down… Did you choose the optional summer at university park?

Hmm. Well, GPA is weighted a lot more heavily for PSU admissions than standardized test scores, so your 4.11 should help. Plus, top ~8% of your class is good. Good luck!

Still haven’t heard back from admissions. Would it be beneficial to me if I called them and change to undecided. Or will my chances of getting to University Park remain the same? Thanks!

@psumainhopeful, I emailed them and asked to be considered for undecided because I was worried too!

I would wait a bit to see if you get accepted into Smeal if you don’t you can easily ask to be considered as an undecided and find out almost immediately. If you change now you could be giving up your spot at smeal! I got in with a low gpa and low SATs but great extras so don’t give up!
