Well, your grades look pretty decent. If I were you, however, I would try to up the SAT score a bit and how about SAT II? But since you are a junior with another 5-6 months left+ senior fall, seems like you’re on the right track.

I think you’ve definately got a shot at both… take the ACT!

Im a Junior, and from what Ive heard/seen, both will be very hard (i wanna do UPenn too, but as a Bio)

Get more E.C.,and show REALLY show ur interest in Engineering (Mechanical? im guessing), work at an Engineering office, even if its just scanning roll files (like i did), write an essay about how you love to construct and build and ur desire for the greatest education in engineering, and do some EC with Engineering. From ur courses, i see that AP Physics and Calc are the Engineer-y things, and thats good. Try as hard as you can to get ur GPA up,

to elab. on flow’s post, for U-Penn, you need two SAT 2’s

im taking physics and math sat iis soon

please identify either as high medium or low reach, match, or safety (upenn is my safety as of now)

UPenn is NEVER a safety, its a 10% chance of admittance. Id say its a Med-High reach for you. As for MIT, High Reach

being asian is NOT a hook, especially at those schools. considered an over-represented minority, actually. your class rank and sats are mediocre at best for upenn and mit. both are reaches, MIT is a huge reach. upenn is NOT a safety, honestly I would be quite surprised if you got in.

I have to agree on that. Its pretty dangerous to say that UPenn is a safety, with your scores(no offense). However, I guess it is still a little early to assume anything. Most importantly, keep your grades up, and boost that SAT. And maybe brush up on your ECs, they look pretty weak IMO.

my uncle is a psychologist and gave me a special IQ test and my result was 138. does that help?

No, not really.

no. not one bit.

not really…they dont look into ur IQ :P

tryout for Johns hopkins and princeton u. too…both also top-notch engineering schools

damn. you would think that i’d be a really competitive applicant considering that i technically near genius

If ur one in a million in America, there are 300 people just like you. Always remember that.

BUMPyBUMPy

Looks like a joke topic to me… but I don’t know for sure.

How the hell do you figure Penn is a safety for you?

idk i just assumed it wasnt that hard to get into
