Essays (rating 1-10, details): I wrote my common app about a tough challenge I faced in auditioning for the Snareline for my school and demonstrated my determination and self-drive. My English teacher read through it and adored it, changing nothing (rating: 10). I believe my Why UPenn essay was to the point and simultaneously provided insight into my personality (rating: 8-9).
Recommendations (rating 1-10, details): I waived my right to see them but I was one of the best students both of my teachers had ever had and my counselor adored me (she decided to mention my impressive GPA during my junior and senior years that each set a new record for my school although my overall GPA did not.)

You have a strong academic background, however, your ECs are not related at all and lack a specific goal. For example, your dedication to band is great but doesn’t relate to science. I would say you have a chance but unless you apply SCEA your chances are a crapshoot.

I commend you for the sheer breadth of ECs that you have done in diverse fields. Though I would agree with dnstudent26 that you need more focus.

How to judge EC’s:

Relation to what you want to do > Quality > Quantity

Though overall, I would say Match if you apply ED. Otherwise, 50/50 shot High Match/Low Reach
