Chances for UPenn Nursing

Hi, I was wondering if I have a good chance of getting into UPenn's School of Nursing being a male. I know there aren't that many guys in nursing, so I'm wondering if being a guy would give me a certain advantage over the competition. Here's my stats btw:

GPA: 4.0/4.36 (UW/W)
ACT: 33 (35 English, 33 Science, 32 Reading, 31 Math)
SATII: Math2-700 US History-720

Volunteering:
2 Years Hospital Volunteering (4 hours every week. With leadership position)
4 Years of the annual San Juan Creek Cleanup
1 Summer of Newport Bay Habitat Restoration
1 Summer of Library Volunteering

ECs:
4 Years Tennis (Co-Captain of JV, 2 JV Doubles Championships)
2 Years Best Buddies Club
2 Years Debate Club
2 Years Clear Windows Club
1 Year of AP Environmental Recycling Program

Hooks: Male nursing? maybe LGBT-identified?

So, what would my chances be of getting into UPenn's Nursing School? Thanks!

I think you’re competitive. The only thing I would like to point out is that nursing recommends a science SAT II and you don’t have one. So that is probably a weak point, though ACTs might make up for that. I’m not 100% sure though.

And on a side note, I’ve always wondered does LGBT-identified give you a hook? Cus I am and i’ve wondered that. I didn’t point it on my app for ideological reasons but I’ve always wondered.

It’s true that there aren’t many male nurses at Penn. I think in our freshman class there are 15 (which is quite a lot for this year’s incoming class). I think your stats are good. It just depends on if you wrote the essays really well. I think for the nursing school especially, demonstrated interest in such a specific field is key to admission. Best wishes!
