Please chance me and let me know if any other information would help Thanks

You are probably around a 25% chance, just off your statistics and demographic.

But don’t be discouraged: write a great essay, show interest in Penn and stress your great public service.

Good luck!

Would it help if I applied ED?

No offense, but I agree with paradocs. I don’t think ED would help you as much because it looks like it is not your first choice. If it is your first choice, you apply ED (unless you want to maximize your chances for financial aid). So I think you should apply elsewhere EA or ED to your number 1 school (if that’s Penn, then go for it).

Being from Long Island is a negative hook, you’re SAT is solid but low for UPenn though your ACT score is high enough to make up for that, you’re pretty much hookless, I would say low/decent chance

Although all the points the others have made are true, I would step away from the picture you have built - Indian girl from Long Island interested in Pre-Med - because there are so many people drawing that picture. Instead, think about you.

Grab a piece of paper, and answer these questions. Don’t read ahead. Go, get a pen, two pieces of paper, and sit down. Actually, though - do it! It might just make the difference for your application. Now, keep reading.

What makes you happiest? What class is your favorite? What do you love about your closest friends? Name something you love but don’t tell other people about. What is your favorite place to go, on your own? What do you hate about your family? What do you love about them? What is your favorite TV/book/character? Is there something you do when no-one else is in the room? What traits in people do you love? What animals do you like, and why? Look at your answers, and draw a new picture of yourself, just from those answers.

Now, flip the sheet of paper over. Write down everything you know about Penn. Then, make a list of all the reasons you should go there. Finally, write down all your favorite things about Penn. It’s a harder question - think it through.

Now, get another piece of paper.Compare the two sides of the previous sheet of paper - the two sides of your application to Penn. Then write down all the ways that those secret parts of you, the parts deep inside, make you want to go to Penn. Remember, only use the bits you wrote down on the first piece of paper - don’t talk about prestige, or name, or your major. Just write down the overlap between your personality, and Penn’s.

Congratulations! You just wrote the outline for the Penn essay that might just get you in.

A final note - what if there was no overlap, except the prestige, and the name, and the major? If you are still adamant about applying, be honest and write about those. But understand that it might just mean that Penn isn’t the place for you.

Chance me back?

hard statistics and scores are a bit iffy… but I can’t say too much because I’ve been there too.
plus if your school is super competitive like mine, there’s a reason (though it doesn’t explain AP scores or SATs).
but honestly, show your passions, relate your passions to what you can contribute to UPenn, and it’s definitely worth it.

chance me back? :)
