Chances for UPENN Wharton ED

Hey, thanks for clicking on my post my post!

What do you think my early decision chances are at UPENN Wharton? Mind that the early decision acceptance rate was 31% last year.

My stats:

3.8 unweighted GPA
SAT - 2000 (720 math/660 reading/620 writing)
I know my scores are a little low, but I will be trying to up the, this fall
APs - Calc, Chem, Literature (rest are honors)
Student Council member
NHS member
Consistent volunteer at local youth center
11 varsity letters (4 lacrosse and alpine skiing, 3 football)
Senior captain for all 3 sports
Rotary Youth Leadership Award recipient and counselor following year
National Leadership Conference attendee (Business & Entrepreneurship)
Have held a job at a restaurant for 2.5 years (work 6 hours a week during school and 25 during summer)
I believe my essay is particularly strong (still a work in progress)

Thanks!

Out of reach with your current SAT. Take a few subject tests, too, including the Math Level 2.

What ybrown234 said. Captain of football lacrosse and skiing is very impressive, considering you’re GPA. Is you’re rank in the top 5-10% of your class? SATs must go up atleast 250 points for a shot. Penn’s ED acceptance rate is 25%, not 31%, and there’s general consensus that the Wharton ED is definitely lower than that.

Do not underestimate the power of the SATs.
I agree with the previous posters. The Math level 2 subject test is something that Wharton really looks at.

Your athletic accomplishments are very impressive.

Wharton is a reach for everyone.

It would be a reach without Wharton. But because it is Wharton I would say high reach, even with ED. The applicants there are incredibly competitive, and your scores are low. I hate to be a downer. Still give it a shot! You never know what will happen!

Please chance me back http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1544406-chance-me-please-duke-notre-dame-johns-hopkins-etc-ill-chance-you-back.html

Top 10% of my class without weighted grades…my school does not officially rank though and does not report it when applying. Would it be absolutely necessary to take Math 2? And I do realize Wharton is mor competitive.

My school doesn’t rank either. That won;t hurt you.
While it is not absolutely necessary to take subject tests unless the school requires it, it will greatly help you chances for Wharton. Keep in mind that almost all competitive applicants there will have done well on subject tests.
