I’d say you’re pretty much in the ballpark in respects to gpa. The schools you listed would be definite matches if you brought your ACT or SAT up a bit (just to be on the safe side especially if you have no hooks.) ECs are typical, but if your essays are as great as you say they are, then I’d be surprised if you didn’t get into any of your choices.

My ECs are a bit specific, so I don’t really want to list them. However, I have been told that they are quite strong, so I don’t think they’ll hurt me in any way (worst case scenario).

Would you advise retaking the SATs in November or December then?

It would be a good idea. I think the ACT is easier to increase, but the SAT can be improved with a little more work. November may be too soon, but it all depends on how motivated you are to study. I’m not sure the December SAT would be considered if you’re applying EA or ED, so just check the deadlines for your specific schools to see if you can put off testing until then.

I might just evaluate how it goes with my ED/EA schools, and then sign up to take the Jan. SAT test if I don’t find my admissions results suitable. Does this sound good?

Are you in the top 10% or out of it. That makes a big difference ti some schools. Good grades and curriculum, but below average test scores for top schools. ECs good, but not anything out of the ordinary for applicants to top colleges.

Vanderbilt = high reach ED (less than 10%). Vanderbilt is very numbers focused and your scores are not even at their 25% mean level. I would suggest looking elsewhere for your ED.

Notre Dame, Emory, Davidson = reaches (10 - 33% RD). Test scores below their medians and rarely accept anyone outside of top 10% class rank. Might consider using ED at Davidson as they take a high percentage of those applicants and your metrics are in their ball park (assuming in top 10% of class).

Colgate, Bucknell = low reaches (33 to 50%). You are competitive for these schools, but nothing that you have described will stand out to them from many other competitive applicants.

Villanova = match (66 - 90%)

Agree with post that suggests you look at Holy Cross. Other places to consider – Fordham, Wake Forest, and Sewanee.
