Chances for USC, NYU, Pitt, Tufts, others?

Hey, everyone, I know these posts can be a nuisance...I'm just curious! I'm currently a Junior in High School, so obviously SATs can be improved, and my grades/GPA are based on what I currently have and honestly believe I can maintain until this summer. I'm hoping to study Neuroscience, but of course am only going for my undergrad so that information isn't extremely vital... Thanks!

All of my classes listed as not AP are honors.. We are not allowed to take APs until Junior year. My school is a very competitive public high school in Massachusetts and my course load is considered to be somewhat rigorous for my school.

Thank you so much!

ECs/Volunteer work
-Have had a lead in 5 shows since my Freshman Year of high school, including THE lead this past year. We are a very renowned theater program in the state, and have been named one of the best for a public high school on a number of occasions.
-Have been in at least 3-4 shows a year since 4th grade.
- Have been in 3 choirs spanning over 8 years, and have been taking voice lessons intermittently for 5.
- Founded a Church Youth Group at my Catholic Church
- Am a member of a youth council in my town that works with students to help improve our community. Only a selected number are admitted; we had to apply. This includes charity work
- 11 Years of town league baseball and 1 year of JV volleyball (Had to quit due to health issues)
- Over 70 Hours of community service at a local theatre company for kids.
- Helped with a group of 6th grade boys with a youth service in town to take them on field trips after school (i.e. bowling, golfing, etc) this past year, will do again next year.
- Take summer courses at MIT for Neuroscience, Statistics, and Photography.

Schools I would like to be chanced on:
- University of Southern California, Los Angeles
- New York University
- University of Pittsburgh
- Boston College
- Northeastern
- George Washington
- Tufts
- University of San Diego

Yea I think you might have a pretty good to really good chance at NYU and USC. My sister got into NYU, Boston, all the UCs and a few other schools with a 1950 in SAT last year. Take a bunch of practice test for the ACT and SAT over the summer and take the tests again after the summer and you’ll be set. Good Luck

Sent from my HERO200 using CC App

you are in at NYU, USD, pitt, and probably george washington and northeastern

the rest i am not completely sure about. i think if you raised your SAT to a 2100+ your chances would be a lot better at the rest of the schools

chance me back! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1090837-final-chances.html</a></p>

Thanks to both of you for your thoughtful responses!

Anyone else?

Your EC’s are a little lacking. Your freshman year sucks, plain and simple, but since you improved over time, colleges might view that as a plus. You essentially have 5-6 AP classes total, which could be good or bad depending on your school.

I’d say you’re good for NYU and USC. I don’t know much about the other colleges.

improve your SAT score and if possible your GPA and you’ll have a chance at all of those then

University of Southern California, Los Angeles … Match/Reach for now …

New York University match

University of Pittsburgh …?

Boston College …?

Northeastern In … my friend just got in with a 1930 but he had a 4.0 GPA

George Washington ?

Tufts Reach

University of San Diego IN

If you can get your GPA to 3.7 and get a 2100 you should be in at all those schools.

Chance me back please
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1090865-chances-brown-nyu-villanova-johns-hopkins-i-will-chance-back-2.html</a></p>

Thanks everyone! I appreciate all the input…

By the way, if anyone has knowledge of Neuroscience Undergrad Programs or the curriculum at Northeastern, if you could reply here, that’s be great: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/northeastern-university/1091388-behavioral-neuroscience-nu.html</a></p>

Anyone else have an opinion?

USC - Reach until you get your SAT/GPA up
New York University - High match
University of Pittsburgh - Match
Boston College - Not sure
Northeastern - Low Match, almost Safety
George Washington - Not sure
Tufts - Reach
University of San Diego - Safety

I’m confident I’ll be able to get the SAT scores up, but I’m not too sure about the GPA. I’ll do my best though, thanks for the input!
