Your gpa is low, your act/sat are ok. Are you by any chance a minority? That would help a lot. Also if you don’t need financial aid, that would help too. I’d say a low reach at this point, mostly because of your gpa.

Hi goddardc! I am a USC parent. Your ACT composite of 34 is above the middle 50% (which was 30-33 for 2009) of accepted students. The average unweighted GPA of accepted students was 3.8. If your 3.7 is an unweighted figure, it is fine. Your SAT subject tests are good. The only weakness I see is that you only list two AP classes. Have you taken more APs and honors than you list here?

The mean UW GPA of matriculated students for Fall 2009 (those who actually chose to attend USC) was 3.7, and the middle 50% of ACT scores was 29-32. You would fit very nicely with that group.

This is not correct. USC is need-blind in admissions, so ability to pay is not a factor in admissions decisions. The estimated cost of attendance this year is $53,618, so if there is even the slightest chance you would qualify for aid I recommend you fill out the FAFSA and CSS/Profile.
