Chances for USF?

White male from NY

SAT: 1120/1600, 1800/2400
Reading-520
Math-600
Writing-680

GPA: 92 (my school doesn't do it on a 4-point scale)

Tons of ECs, service hours, and leadership positions, and solid letters of recommendation.

Throughout high school, I've only taken one AP (Spanish) and four honors classes (Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Spanish III), but I go to a good high school with a very good reputation, that is very well-known.

Additional:
National Honor Society
Spanish National Honor Society
Dean’s Award
Honor Roll

I think you have a good chance at USF. Your test scores are a little low (according to [Test Score Requirements](http://usfweb2.usf.edu/Admissions/test-score-requirements.html) the 25% is 1090) but your GPA is good if i calculated it on a 4 point scale right (almost a 3.7) and it is unweighted. I’d rate it as a slight reach/ high match. Good luck!

I think you have a good chance as well. Good luck :)

Andrew, I’m sure you’ve been admitted already by now, but I just wanted to say that your test scores are definitely not a problem. They meet the average requirements, obviously.

Thanks, that is good to hear. I have yet to hear back though :(

That’s weird. Did they get all of your stuff? That’s weird. It might be because you’re oos. I don’t know how it works but maybe the admissions process is just all around easier for in-state students.

Well, don’t worry. According to the princeton review and collegeboard, your gpa’s a 3.7 and that’s unweighted right? With a 3.7 and 1120/1800 should get you in, seeing as how 25% get in with a 1070.

USF doesn’t care about your extracurricular activies that much, if you go on their website they have the exact guidelines for getting in. http://usfweb2.usf.edu/admissions/pdf/counselor-grid.pdf

Thanks, guys. Actually I just got an email that they are missing some things from me so I guess that must be why I didnt hear back yet.

They needed my transcript so it was sent again and it was received, but they still haven’t given me a decision yet…

I have yet to hear back too

I got in today finally! I didn’t hear about money yet but I saw online that based on my GPA and SATs I should get $4,000 minimum.

$4,000 a year!? Where’d you find that?

Oh, you’re out of state.
