High School stopped doing class rank but was 15 out of 300 as the time they stopped. Top 5%.
Not in band, choir, etc but is in a couple academic teams (Envirothon, Physics Olympics)
Thank you for looking.
Can I ask you a question? Why is he trying to go to USF XD? If he was going to be denied, it would be for over qualification XD
On a serious note getting into the Honors College is different matter. If you have a 1400 on the SAT they automatically accept you, but if you have a 1360 or above they interview you and look at your credentials. But again, I dont think he will have a problem getting into that either.
Update - just received May’s SAT score = 1430.
@BillyMadison123 you’re over qualified. In fact with your new sat score you’ll auto qualify for USF’s honor college. I don’t know if USF has special significance too you and it’s a great school and all but I have little doubt that you could get into UF if you wanted which is alot better of a school. However it strongly depends on your major and USF is ranked better as a research institution if you plan on grad school
UF is his number one but he likes USF a lot too.
Update - Received his June SAT scores and his superscore is now 1440.
Congrats to your son on the acceptance ! What have you all decided on ?
Did he ever apply to any in-state options like Penn State, Lehigh, Carnegie Mellon, etc.? Penn.'s state schools are quite expensive for in-state but still a better deal than attending a Florida university as an out of state undergrad - unless financial aid is playing a substantial factor.
No matter what’s decided, your son will end up getting a a great engineering education. Did he apply to UF and UCF as well btw? UF is top dog but all three are good, with FSU lagging behind a bit in certain areas (comp sci).I
Let us know when everything is figured out !
HI Zanya01! Thank you. My son applied to all southern schools. UCF, USF, UF, FSU, Alabama, and Clemson. He already got accepted to UCF, USF, and Alabama. The rest we will hear from in January and February. I think his favorite is still UF. He has the numbers for it but have heard that UF is sometimes unpredictable as to who they admit. He did not apply to any PA schools.
