What are her Chances for UT Austin CS acceptance ?
Do the stats look acceptable for applying to Turing?
Also, do you think, higher SAT score will improve her chance ?

She’s an auto-admit for UT. Based on the stats, I think she’s be a pretty solid candidate for getting into a CS major. It’s still never a guarantee, but chances are good.

Thanks for responding.

I agree with @coolguy40, that your daughter’s chances are good. Both of my daughter’s had similar stats and your daughter’s EC’s are better, and they both got accepted to CS. Do apply to other places because nothing is guaranteed, but your daughter would also be eligible for merit scholarships at other schools.

Turing admits average around 1560. You also need a compelling essay. The admit rate for Turing applicants is 15%. You fill out a honors application after your CS application.

Has she gotten an acceptance yet? Since she attended First Bytes, I think she should get in. When my daughter went to First Bytes, the lady in charge said she gets to look over the CS applicants and claim which ones were her campers. I heard that as “my campers get accepted into Computer Science”. My daughter got into CS but not Turing. She did not have any experience with computer science except the First Bytes camp so your daughter has a huge leg up on getting in I think. Good luck to her!

Thank you so much for your response. Congratulations to your daughter !!
My daughter is a junior, she will apply in 2020.
