I am an out-of-state student applying to UT Austin with a 3.87UW GPA. I have an SAT score of 1400. AP Classes: World History, Statistics, U.S. History, Calculus AB, Physics C, American and Comparative Gov, and Physics 2. EC: Math Club for 2 years and school Robotics team for 4 years and 140 hours of community service. My essays are okay-ish: not too good and not too bad. Should this be enough to get a directly into UT Austin engineering? Where am I lacking?
From what you’ve told us you should have decent chances. But what is your rank? That is a very important factor in UT Austin admissions process. Which engineering are you applying for?
My school does not rank. My school is very academically competitive, however. I am planning to apply to either Aerospace or Computer Engineering. Does applying to a different engineering program increase or decrease your chances by much?
UT is a big reach for any out of state applicant as they fill 90% of their class instate. Be sure to have match and safety schools on your list.
