I’ve applied to these three schools (among others) for aerospace engineering and think that I would have a pretty decent chance if it weren’t for my GPA and class rank. Stats for context:
SAT (New): 1470- Math 710, Reading 760
SAT Subject: Math II 740, Physics 670
ACT: 34
GPA: 3.28 unweighted, 3.78 weighted
Class Rank: 538 of 1108
All AP classes including Physics C and Calculus BC
Took engineering class in sophomore year and advanced engineering in junior year
Took precal over the summer to skip to calc bc
Work (paid) at Kumon as a tutor and at my school as a student technician (working lighting, sound, etc for non-theater
department events in the school auditorium)
AutoCAD User Certification, SolidWorks experience
National Hispanic Recognition Program scholar
First-choice set designer for my school’s theater dept since sophomore year
I am waiting on decisions from Georgia Tech, UT Austin, and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Do these schools take into account my high school’s level of difficulty? (very highly ranked nationally) Any and all insight into my actual chances for these universities would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
