Are you OOS?

I am a Texas resident, but my father is in the military so I’m not currently present there.

Ok good. Here are the statistics for the students that were offered Plan 2 in 2016:

422 offers
Top 5% of their class - 50%
Valedictorians - 10%
Middle 50% math and critical reading (old SAT) - 1410 - 1530
Middle 50% Math - 700 - 770
Middle 50% Critical Reading - 700-780
Average Math - 728
Average Critical Reading - 736

So based on this info, you might get an offer, but it’s probably about 50/50 and is going to be largely dependent on the incoming class that you apply with, I think. Your CR score might be a little low though, given that this is a Liberal Arts program.

I know my critical reading score is low, but I plan on making that up with my AP English scores.

It’s not that your CR score is low, just a little bit low for this program. But I don’t think AP scores really work that way for admissions purposes. You can use AP credit to test out of things at UT, but I don’t think they use AP scores to counterbalance a lower than average SAT score when considering honors programs.

@jdam9828 - Don’t think AP scores are considered during the admission process.
Make sure you have excellent essays that prove to the AdCom that you would be an asset & fit for UT.
Good Luck!
