Chances for UVA and Vanderbilt. Will chance back.

In order of preference, I want to attend UVA, Georgia Tech, George Washington, NC State (in-state)
Also, what are my chances for some reaches like Cornell and Vanderbilt?

Total Honors: 11 (Algebra 2, English 9, Pre-cal, Civics, English 10, Spanish 3, Earth Science, US History, English 12, Spanish 4, Great American Conflicts)

Total AP's: 5 (US Government, Calculus BC, Statistics, Physics 1, Physics 2) I have not taken any of the AP tests yet. I am taking AP US Government and AP Calc BC this year, and AP Stat, AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2 next year.

I plan on getting 22 A's and 3 B's throughout high school. But that is on my school systems 7-point grading scale. On a typical 10-point grading scale, those B's would be A-'s, so I would have straight A's

GPA: ...........................................Unweighted............college style 4.0 max................Weighted

-Freshman :.....................................3.86................................3.96...................................4.14
-Sophomore:...................................3.83............................... 3.95...................................4.33
-Junior:............................................3.83................................3.95...................................5.0
-Senior (projected):.........................4.0..................................4.0......................................5.5

Overall (after junior year):............,...3.84...............................3.95.....................................4.47
Overall (projected Senior year):......3.88...............................3.96.....................................4.72

As you can see, I've got a huge upward trend. I was not as motivated during my freshman and sophomore years, but hopefully colleges will look past that.

I plan on applying early

Probably top 10%-15% of class of 340. My school is one of the most competitive schools in NC.

SAT: I will take it in May. Based off of my practice tests, I think a 2100 is realistic. I'm trying to get it up to a 2200.
ACT: Haven't taken it yet

EC's:
-33 hours of volunteering (I will have at least 100 by the time I submit my application).
-COO and President of the consumer goods sector of the research committee on the stock market club
-Wrestling: 3-year varsity letter, 3-time All-conference, 3-time all-region, 2-year team captain
-Scholar athlete award (highest GPA on wrestling team)
-Spanish 3 National Spanish Exam honorable mention
-AMC8 (math test) national honor roll.

Work experience (do these count?)
-dog-sitting
-assistant wrestling coach for my local middle school

Additional:
-White
-$70,000 yearly household income
-I think my essays should be exceptional
-My recommendations should be above average, but not spectacular
-I have no doubt that I can ace the interview

Please chance me assuming that I get a 2100, then let me know how a 2200 would affect my chances. Thanks.

Sorry sir, I’m an international student so I don’t know much about UVA and Vanderbilt, I’m really sorry. But I know a 2100 SAT will get you in a decent school.

Pretty sure there’s not a big diff between 2100 and 2200. But I’ve heard 2300 is a new level.

You have a good schedule, and good gpa. A 2100 is good, but not exceptional for UVA and your reach schools (but it should get you looked at at least)… I would just try to improve it as much as possible. EC’s/Awards seem a bit lacking to me, but the leadership is a good bonus.

UVA=reach
Georgia Tech= match/high match
George Washington= match/ high match (i don’t really know)
, NC State= should be easy acceptance

Vanderbilt - Reach
Cornell - Reach
Virginia - Low Reach
Georgia Tech - High Match/Low Reach
GWU - Match
NC State - Safety
Are you considering Chapel Hill? I think it’d be a match/high match for you.

I considered it, but I’m not interested in a liberal arts school.

Vanderbilt - Low Reach
Cornell - Reach
Virginia - high match/Low Reach
Georgia Tech - Match
GWU - Match
NC State - Safety
Look into UNC
chance me-http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1633812-help-a-sophomore-out.html#latest

be sure to talk a lot about your wrestling in your essays if that’s what you’re passionate about.

Vanderbilt - 30%
Cornell - 25%
Virginia - 35%
Georgia Tech - 60%
GWU - 65%
NC State - 95%

I had a 3.8 w GPA and a 35 composite ACT (about a 2310 Sat conversion) and got wait listed at UVA and rejected from Cornell and UNC. Make sure your essays are stellar. That’s the biggest piece of advice I can offer you. Read and redraft them a thousand times.

I’ve got something even better for my essay: getting diagnosed with diabetes. My essay should be stellar.

Your ecs are kind of weak, but if you write solid essays you should do fine.

Vanderbilt - Mid- Reach
Cornell - reach
UVA - low reach
Georgia tech - high match
Gwu - high match
Unc - reach

Good luck!

Vandy - Reach
Cornell - Reach
UVA - High match/low reach
Georgia Tech - High match
GWU - match
UNC - match

I think Georgia tech and NC State you will be fine with and get in. UNC is a match. Virginia probably a low reach and Vandy/Cornell are reaches

I’d like to clear something up: I am NOT interested in UNC. I am interested in NC State. How much financial aid and how many scholarships could I get from NC State?

Does your school weight honors classes?

Yes, honors are +1 and AP’s are +2

Your grades look good, your EC’s show leadership but there’s a lot of competition so it might not stand out in comparison. I think your essays will make it or break it for you. Make sure to read up on what colleges are looking for and give each topic a lot of thought.

I think that your grades and GPA are fine, but you EC’s could be better. Your transcript is solid and I think a 2100 is also solid. With all of that I think all of the schools are matches except for Cornell which is definitely a reach. Vanderbilt is a little bit lower bit of a reach and maybe even more of high match

If you’re interested in Vandy, you might want to apply early since I know chances early are much higher. Other than that, I think your grades plus scores will get you in everywhere else, except for Cornell, which is a reach.

Vanderbilt- reach (get that 2200 and you should be ok though)
Cornell- I’d say a reach just because the whole world applies there (at my school a bunch do cuz it’s an “easier” ivy)
UVA- high match
Georgia tech- match
GWU- you’d get in no doubt especially with a 2200
NC state- match

Vanderbilt - Low Reach (2200 would help here) still very possible with 2100
*Cornell - Low Reach (2200 would help here) still very possible with 2100
Virginia - high match
Georgia Tech - match
GWU - match / safety
NC State - Safety
UNC Chapel Hill - high match

*Cornell only focuses on SAT Math and Reading, idk if that helps or hurts
Your grades are excellent, keep UW GPA around 3.85+ and take the most challenging courses offered
