Chances for UVA and Vanderbilt. Will chance back.

Vanderbilt - Low Reach, Cornell- Reach, Virginia - Low Reach, Georgia Tech - Match, GWU - Low Match, NC State - Safety

Just out of curiosity, are you taking classes for both AP Phys 1 and AP Phys 2, or are you self-studying one of them?
Regardless, I think your application is strong,
UVA - reach
Georgia Tech - mid match
George Washington - mid/high match
NC State (in-state) - low match

Since you are still a Junior, I’d recommend to start building a relationship with 1 or 2 teachers and try to zone in on a good recommendation letter. To some schools these are VERY important. Make sure that when you apply, expand a bit on the Stock Market Club, I’ve never heard of such a club before and I’m fascinated by the sound of it. What sort of activities do you carry out in the stock market club, basically how does it work? I think this is something very rare in college apps and it will make colleges remember you once they read your app.

Thanks for the advice. In my school, AP Physics 1 and AP Physics 2 are taken together in a double period.

Vanderbilt and Cornell are reaches, the rest you have a good chance of getting in. As for any decent scholarships, NC State should give you some good money.

Cornell was less selective this year but still a reach for you
others are likely matches

UVA=reach
Georgia Tech= high match
George Washington= match
NC State= Safety
Vanderbilt=Reach
Cornell=Reach

Good ECs but you should diversity a little more. Best of luck, I’m sure you’ll go somewhere great!

Vanderbilt - low reach/high match
Cornell - reach
Virginia - high match/low reach
Georgia Tech - match
GWU - match
NC State - Safety
Your grades and hypothetical SAT (2200) are good, EC’s don’t really stand out to me though. Your essay topic sounds interesting and personal, so that’s good!

I’m definitely looking for scholarships. How much could I get from NC State? Would I be high enough in the applicant pool to get a full-ride from the Parks scholarship (which is usually given to 40 applicants)? I heard that OOS students are less likely to get financial aid than IS students, so I wonder if I could even pay for UVA or GT assuming I get in. What about GW? Sinc it’s in DC, 97% are OOS, so would I stand a better chance at getting financial aid from GW?

Your grades and classes, as well as your sat look fine, but Vanderbilt and Cornell are somewhat of a reach but not impossible with an exceptional interview and stellar essay

Get the SAT up a bit, Vandy is getting harder and harder every year.

Your grades are great but your ECs could use some improvement for the schools you are are applying to. Based solely on grades and test scores, you stand a fairly decent shot. Best of luck.

I agree with what is mostly there:
Vanderbilt - Low Reach
Cornell - Reach
Virginia - Low Reach/ High Match
Georgia Tech - High Match
GWU - Match
NC State - Safety
Get those SATs up and you should be on your way! Keep up the solid work and don’t stress out over getting the 4.0s senior year!

Vanderbilt - Low reach
Cornell - Reach
Virginia - Match
Georgia Tech - SAfety
GWU - Match
NC State - Safety

You seem like you’ve got thing under control, make sure essays are strong - http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1639715-chances-for-stanford-rea-will-chance-back.html#latest</a> chance me please?

Hey, I guess I will add my two cents.

Vanderbilt - Reach
Cornell - Reach
Virginia - Match
Georgia Tech - I don’t know enough about this school to say, sorry :frowning:
GWU - Match
NC State - Safety

P.S. I wish I went to your school. My school gives no extra credit for honors classes, and 0.0488 of a point for AP.

By the way, I have been accepted to UVA, but I’m deciding between Duke and Princeton.

George Washington- Match/Safety
Georgia Tech - Match
UVA - Low Reach/High Match
NC State - Safety and I think you could get a decent amount of scholarships, but I don’t know enough to say for sure.
Cornell/Vanderbilt - Reach, but a 2200+ SAT score would improve your chances a lot.

Overall, I think that your classes and ECs are great, You have a decent shot at most of these schools.
Chance me back?

Breaking news: I just took the ACT, and It was extremely easy for me. I did some calculations and predicted my score -

34 is a modest estimate, and I’m hoping (maybe 40% chance) to get a 35. How will those scores affect my chances?

If I do get a 34 or 35, should I still send my my SAT if I get a 2100? 2200?

You are above the caliber of UVA if you are getting a 35 on the ACT. I know a senior who got into UVA with a 1580/2400 on the SAT and a GPA of 3.82 (unweighted).

Any thought for a major?

I believe if you apply Cornell ED, it would likely be a match for you. GW should be a match, and depending on major, GA Tech would be a high match in my opinion.

If you haven’t already, look at unc ch. pretty much equivalent to uva for North Carolina. All but cornell should be solid options for you
