Chances for UVA (I love hoos)

<p>What do you guys think may chances are for UVA out of state. How much will applying early help? ALSO MY MOM (A DISTINGUISHED HISTORIAN/WRITER) GOT HER PH.D FROM UVA AND HAS GIVEN SMALL AMOUNTS OF MONEY CONSISTANTLY FOR THE LAST 15+ YEARS.</p>

School Type- Elite Private/Prep school
State- New Jersey
Economic Background- Middle/Upper Class</p>

<p>UW GPA: 3.7
W GPA- 4.1</p>

<p>Classes/Grades:</p>

<p>Honors or High honors grades since spring of freshman year every term.</p>

<p>I have mostly A’s with a few B’s. I had a couple bad classes freshman year but I have been on an upward trend.</p>

<p>I am just about at the top 10% of my class (full of geniuses).</p>

<p>Taken 3 AP classes with all A’s.
Gotten all A’s and a few B’s in 3 years of honors math courses.</p>

<p>AP US History: 4
AP Biology: 4
AP English writing/comp: 4
AP Art, AP Psych: Will take senior year</p>

MUN member for 3 years
JV Golf Soccer and Lacrosse for 2 years each
I am in 5 bands (3 at my school) and am quite musically talented
Had an internship in an AIDS research lab this summer
Had an internship at a political consulting firm last summer
Attended National Student Leadership Conference last summer
Will have 50+ hours comm. service.
Leading program to get 100% of 18 year old+ students to register to vote.
Leader in New Student Orientation Program at school.</p>

<p>you have great grades, great sats, great ecs (send them tapes of you playing something - they like that crap at admissions, especially if you're good), legacy, you come from a great high school.</p>

<p>I wouldn't be surprised if you got echols actually.</p>

<p>cavalier302, when you say an excellent shot i assume you mean of acceptance and not for the scholorship, Is that correct?</p>

<p>Also my grades that I reported reflect more closely what I did junior year. My sophmore and freshman grades were just a bit lower. How will these affect my shot? Keep in mind that I plan on doing very well in grades senior year.</p>

<p>I mean for acceptance overall. Also, if you are serious about UVA, consider applying early decision.</p>

<p>keep in mind echols isn't a scholarship - it just gives you priority class registration.</p>
