UVa Supplements: great
ND Supplements: pretty good, could have been more unique but very well written
Counselor Rec: Likely decent, not all that personal, might note my unofficial 'ranking'
Teacher Recs: Good, one teacher who was also History Day advisor
Supplemental Rec from parish priest and employer, very good

Hooks: None

Applying EA to all three, Engineering school at Northeastern and UVa

Really worried about my shot at ND and UVa in particular, as they are both 'dream schools' for me. Thanks!

My son had very similar stats and ECs and was accepted at UVa. I cannot comment on ND or Northeastern. Good luck and congratulations on an impressive resume!

I would be surprised if you were not admitted to all 3. ND will be the toughest, but your stats make you very competitive. It will just be a question of how good a “fit” the AdCom sees you as being.

Thanks all, it’s very reassuring to hear some positive feedback when the atmosphere at my high school (competitive public school) has been very tense the last couple of weeks. I know I should probably submit the apps and move on until December, but its helpful to get a feel for whether or not I can get it.

You would have like a 4.2 ish GPA on the 4.0 scale, which is excellent. Good luck

Desperate, last minute, decisions-come-out-really-soon-OMG bump.

Notre Dame: high match
UVA: match
Northeastern: low match

bump? Really want some more feedback if it all possible

bump…

UVA-Match
ND-Low match
NE-safe!

please chance back
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1589537-chance-me-my-remaining-colleges-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

I don’t think ND can be a Low Match

ND: High Match~
UVA: Match
NE: Match

Yeah I don’t know if ND is a low match for anyone! but I appreciate the optimism, seriously convinced that I’m going to be flat-out rejected there, but there still might be hope.

You would have over a 4.0 on a normal scale. Your honors and awards are very impressive. ND will be the toughest, but I would say you should be accepted to the others! Good luck!!

I think you’re a match for Notre Dame and UVA, and I really don’t think Northeastern would deny a 2340 as long as you’ve shown some interest.

I’m applying to Notre Dame too. CHANCE BACK: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1589633-chance-me-low-act-superb-unique-ecs-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

UVA- match
ND-match
NE-safety.

Notre Dame - Safety
UVA - High Match
Northeastern - Match

buuuuuuuuuuump

Northeastern is definitely a safety for you. You would be a really strong candidate for UVA and so I think it’s a high match for you there. Notre Dame is probably the biggest reach for you but even then, you seem more likely than most. Good luck!

So I applied to UVA early action and was wondering if someone could chance me. Thanks!

I attend a Governor’s School for STEM.
I have taken the hardest courses offered by my school. Last year I took DE Physics through JMU. I also took APUSH and English 11AA. Senior Year I am currently taking AP Chem, AP Computer Science, AP Calculus BC, AP Lit and Comp, and AP Government and Chinese I + II.
I applied early action so unfortunately UVA will not see my grades on these courses. I also did not send my AP score for APUSH because two of the teachers were fired and it was a bad class so I got a 3. Will this hurt me?

I also think that my letters of recommendation were probably really good and my essays I think were decent.
Extra Curricular + Volunteer: I have done mission trips to Nicaragua for the past three years and work partly in interpreting. (No I’m not Hispanic I’m white.)
I am the Youth Philanthropy Council Representative for my school. I am heavily involved with church activities and youth group. Studied French last summer in Paris. I have taken a summer Chinese recreational course at UVA. I also occasionally tutor Latino Children after school. I am in National Honor Society and Math Honor Society and am a Jefferson Scholar Nominee.

What do you think my chances are for acceptance?? I really do not want to get deferred.
Thanks so much!

Snowboarder, I would be shocked if you were not accepted. You seem to fit the criterion well. Good luck.
