Chances for UVA nursing school - thanks

My D is an in-state legacy and would love to go to UVA for nursing school. She is a rising senior:

GPA - 3.86 (unweighted); 3.95 (weighted)

Class rank - school does not rank

Class rigor - by the time she applies, she will have taken 6 AP classes (including AP Chem, APUSH, AP Euro, AP English, AP Calc, and AP Gov)

School only offers 9 APs (others are in non-core classes).

SAT - 690M; 650CR; 700W - 2040

ACT - 30

SAT2 - Math2 (680), will take others in early October

ECs - over 400 hours of Community Service (including participation on medical mission teams in the Dominican Republic); internship with a hospital; President's Volunteer Service Award, FCA, Varsity Lacrosse (1 year), Small Group Leader and Camp Counselor (2 years), Summer employment as a counselor at a camp for disabled children.

Any thoughts on her chances would be most appreciative. Thanks

Likely a match. UVA cares a lot about rigor and I’m not sure how much rigor she has with a 3.86 weighted. Is it out of 5.0?

Thanks. It’s out of 4.0. Her school has honors classes as well as APs. The APs count toward your weighted average but the honors classes do not. She has received all As, expect for the 3 AP classes she has taken to date (two B+s and one B). She is taking 3 more APs next year.

Chances:

UVA - Low Match

Top 3 Weakness in her application:

**- Low SAT score (but ACT is good enough)

  • Some more leadership in her ECs
  • More involvement in her activities
    **

PM me if you want help on how to fix these.

instate legacy with a 3.86 UW and an SAT above 2000 = low match

Thanks for the replies. Much appreicated.
