Chances for UVa, Rice, Stanford, Duke, others

<p>I'm a sophmore at a northern VA high school and am looking for opinions of my admission chances to UVa's Engineering School. Other schools I'm considering include Rice, Stanford, Duke, UCSD and VA Tech. My intended major is biomedical engineering(pre-med track).</p>

<p>Spent two weeks at an enrichment program at UVa one summer</p>

<p>Academic team for 2 years, math captain this year. We've won districts the past 2 years and regionals this year and made it to states.</p>

<p>I plan to get involved with NHS and Mu Alpha Theta next year as a junior</p>

<p>Won 3 awards at the regional science fair last year as a freshman</p>

<p>I already have at least one teacher recommendation lined up. My counselor/teachers in general like me and know I'm a dedicated student.</p>

<p>Also, are there any other schools I should look into for BME? Thanks!</p>

<p>Stanford is a high reach, duke is a mid reach and unlikely, rice is a low reach- match. I would retake the SAT one more time and see if you get a solid 2200 or higher.</p>

<p>What about UVa?</p>

<p>UVA is probably a safety. I think they accept a little less than half of all instate applicants, around 40%.</p>
