I think you’ve got a solid chance at UVA, Michigan, Boston College, and Notre Dame. Personally, I think UNC would be the hardest but you’ve got a great ACT and GPA. Your ECs are good as are all your APs. Good luck!

You’re in to UVA, Michigan, and Boston, I think.

Notre Dame and UNC are little tougher, but honestly I think you’ve got a pretty good shot there, too. What will hurt you with those two is your GPA being just below 4.0.

Good list of schools might also look at Holy Cross-January 15th application due date. Holy Cross has fantastic alumni network especially in Washington-Supreme Court Justices, Senator, Congressmen etc.

So your test scores are fantastic. Your GPA does look somewhat low though, but hopefully your colleges will be forgiving of what looks like a somewhat rough freshman year. Also, it wouldn’t hurt getting your subject scores up for Notre Dame. Your athletic EC’s are also very compelling. If possible, you might want to try to find something that makes you stand out as unique. Id say that you have very good chances at everywhere but Notre Dame (at the same time Im not an expert on these schools). Anyway, GOOD LUCK!! :)

ACT score are better than you SAT’s by far. I would say you have a good chance everywhere, expect it might be more difficult with UNC and Notre Dame, but I feel like you shouldn’t be too worried as they are both very competitive schools. Best of luck I hope you get in!

Your scores are great! Although your GPA may be a little below average for some of those places, I think you greatly make up for it with such a rigorous course load. Colleges would much rather see a B in an honors/AP class than an A in a regular. Notre Dame may be a bit difficult, but I definitely think it’s a good possibility.

P.S. Any tips for the reading section of the ACT? When I took it, reading was my lowest score (32). Any advice for such a great score (time seems to be my worst enemy)?

I didn’t think UNC was that selective. I think you’re good for everywhere except Notre Dame. That might be a reach for you.

@jwaters It all depends on how you interpret and read. I personally read the whole passage first, read the questions, flip back in the passage if I have to, and then answer. It’s important just knowing the tones and being able to analyze what’s happening in the content.

BC for sure, Michigan, UVA, and UNC good shot, and Notre Dame a bit of a reach but I would say u could get in. And btw u got the same # of APs.

You should be good for UVA, the only thing is they really don’t like Cs so hopefully you didn’t have too many with that lower GPA freshman and sophomore year, but of course being in state helps a lot. You’re good for Boston and being from a catholic school will help you with ND but it depends on how low your unweighted GPA/how much time you spent on your essays. I’m not familar with UMich so I can’t speak to that but UNC will definitely be a reach, they’re pretty selective and your lower GPA might be a problem with them.
